From 1952 to 1968, a reinforced concrete tower attempted to replace this vanished icon. In 1968, the light extinguished, and the concrete tower was removed in 2000, leaving behind a void that time seemed incapable of filling.

Installed atop an eight-meter wooden pylon, this interim lighthouse guided mariners through two light occultations.
